Advice for saxophone beginners by a New York-based jazz saxophonist, Wataru Uchida.

Wataru's Sax Lesson Video 001
The video explains the most important fundamental technique to play wind instruments, ‘abdominal breathing’. Video explains how to breathe. You lie down with your face up and breathe deeply and gently. In this way, your shoulders don’t move because you use diaphragm to blow saxophone.
It has demonstrations of long tone exercise and basic tonguing. First, you put your tongue on the reed, and you release it. The faster you release your tongue, the clearer you play the note. When you do tonguing, you should not push the air like you cough.
